We created visually compelling invitations for BNI’s Visitor Evening, designed to attract and inform potential guests. This BNI graphic design project combined strategic layout, branding consistency, and clear messaging to drive engagement and event attendance.
Our collaboration with BNI began with a clear and focused goal: to design an impactful promotional piece that would support their Visitor Evening initiative and attract a strong turnout. This was more than just an invitation—it was a representation of the organisation’s values, energy, and professionalism. The BNI graphic design needed to capture attention, communicate essential information quickly, and encourage action, all while staying true to BNI’s established brand identity.
The process began with a discovery session where we connected with key BNI members to understand the event’s purpose, audience, and desired outcomes. We discussed the tone they wanted to convey—welcoming yet professional—and the main objective: to increase visitor attendance and showcase the benefits of BNI membership. From this, we gathered the core messaging and hierarchy of information that needed to be featured in the design.
We then moved into research and concept development, reviewing successful event invitations from other BNI chapters and similar networking organisations. We also analysed what design elements would appeal to busy professionals: clean layouts, bold typography, high contrast for legibility, and strategic use of branding elements. This phase was crucial in setting the foundation for a strong and focused BNI graphic design approach.
Using Adobe Illustrator, we sketched out several layout options. The focus was on creating a visual hierarchy that made the event name, date, time, and location immediately noticeable. Secondary information, such as RSVP instructions and key benefits of attending, was placed with supporting icons and dividers to enhance scannability. Because BNI events often rely on personal invitations and quick digital sharing, we designed the final assets to work across print and digital formats.
Colour played an important role in this BNI graphic design project. We chose a bold yet professional palette that drew from BNI’s existing brand colours, reinforcing recognition and trust. Red, grey, and white were balanced to create contrast and clarity. Typography was selected not only for brand consistency but also for readability, especially for small print sizes and mobile viewing.
Throughout the process, we kept in regular contact with BNI representatives. Feedback loops were fast and efficient, allowing us to fine-tune the tone, layout, and text. We made several minor adjustments based on input, such as resizing the RSVP section for more clarity and ensuring the visual balance across all elements. This ongoing collaboration was vital in ensuring the design hit the mark and felt aligned with BNI’s ethos.
We also created a digital-friendly version optimised for email distribution and social sharing. The BNI graphic design needed to function equally well in print and screen environments, so we tested responsiveness and clarity on various devices. The final files were delivered in multiple formats, accompanied by usage instructions to make distribution seamless for BNI members.
In the end, the BNI graphic design project was a great example of strategic, brand-driven promotional design. The final invitations looked sharp, communicated clearly, and generated positive engagement. Not only did they help drive strong attendance at the Visitor Evening, but they also reinforced the professionalism and energy of BNI itself. We were proud to play a part in such a successful and well-received campaign.
